Sivasharan in Kannada Nadu in the twelfth century. Parthikki Lakkamma is a self-confident girl from Amareshwar village in Lingasaguru taluk of Raichur district. The couple, Satikki Lakkamma and Satikki Marayya, made it their business to prepare food from the rice they brought and to offer dasoha to the devotees who came to their house every day. Crops such as paddy/millet are harvested, rice is dried, and the milk left in the fields is called "Akkalu" after being removed from the load while packing. Such honeys are selected and brought by the poor to satisfy their hunger. The work of picking the fallen teats like this is called "raking". Picking up scattered rice is a skill.
