Buku Haematology is a pocket reference for clinical haematology for junior doctors, consultants, general practitioners and specialist nurses who encounter haematology problems in clinical practice. It assists in the initial investigation and management of these haematology problems to enhance care and educate professionals.
'Buku' is the Chichewa word for book or reference. Chichewa is spoken in Malawi where our pathology project MPathE is running.
This app contains general information, and is not advice. It should be used in conjunction with clinical judgement. The responsibility for care lies with the clinician. Use your local haematology on-call service for advice for individual cases.
Buku Haematology has been created by Dr Alex Langridge (Haematology Registrar in the North-East) and Professor Stephen O'Brien (Consultant Haematologist at Freeman Hospital, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne)
For those with an interest in haematology follow #teamhaem on twitter for clinical cases and educational resources.
Content has been developed around current UK practice and all elements of the app may not be applicable in other countries-interpret in the context of local practice.
