Update 2024-01-04: Content still great and the app doesn't crash anymore. Nice! But there are many flashy ads, even with a subscription. The app regularly struggles with its mix of text and ads, repeating text segments. A subscription purchased from the Google Play store can only be used within the app! The subscription details are not synced to the user account. There is no access via a browser, PC, or iPad. Equally disappointing and embarrassing for Germany's top newspaper.

I used to like the app, but some weeks ago (last few updates) it became ridiculous. I can only agree with all reviews written on here since mid august: annoying alert tone (I needed to go deep into my mobile settings to solve this), offline content (what's that?), permission settings (data protection etc is a good idea, but this is made extremely difficult, seemingly to trick people into allowing things they don't want; worse, when used in browser on mobile you dont have that! Appalling!).

I am OK with the content. Using FAZ+ for several years now. Would give 5 stars, but the "Merkzettel" does not work on my smartphone. Did not work work on the previous phone, as well. Keeps loading and loading until app has to be restarted. Reached out to support weeks ago. No answer.
