About this app

This application can be used as an Unicode explorer, or an advanced character picker.
Completely free, no spying, no adds, no in-app purchases :-)

The full version includes embedded fonts and extra support for Kanji characters (see full Unihan info and search the Unihan definition). This makes it (much) bigger than the lite version.

You can browse the full Unicode range, jump to Unicode code points or blocks of your choice, or search in character names.

For all characters you get the standard information in the Unicode Character Database (UCD).

Supports characters beyond Basic Multilingual Plane (BMP) and Emoji (including the color Emoji starting with Android 4.3).

So CONFUSING! And where is the search? I don't get it. I scrolled through all of it (it takes much longer than you think!) and I would say, with NO exaggeration, at least 60% of it was the tall box with the X inside (not available, can't find, etc) and I would like to say that the different colors of what I can only guess is for the different categories? But what good is that when all you see is row upon row of that stupid box? How would I know to narrow down my search?! Needs work! ☹️ Lots! 😩

Search: from the 3-dots menu on the right, "Find in description". On bigger screens (if it fits) that option becomes a button with a magnifier. Density: that is Unicode, mostly empty. Colors: also from the 3-dots menu - Help - Colors

I think this one's got all the characters available in Unicode. Finding certain chars can be difficult 'cause you have to scroll through hundreds of character sets sometimes. You can make a set of favorite chars that you (want to) use often, that makes them available in a seperate page. (p.s. if the font that's set on your phone in android's settings doesn't contain a certain codepage, than you can still find all chars from UNIcode but they won't be displayed as the char on your screen) ☆☆☆☆¤

Love this lookup program!!!! Is there a way for people to upload their rendering of a glyph that is not in the Google Font database to your database? An example would be U+23FB Power Symbol that someone else asked about. I fully understand why you would not have the time to render them yourself but maybe someone does. I just know that it wouldn't be me as I'm a retired programmer from the days before GUIs and have absolutely no talent at computer graphics.
