The New Jerusalem Bible (NJB) is approved for use by Roman Catholics.

The New Jerusalem Catholic Bible is an update to the Jerusalem Bible, an English version of the French Bible de Jérusalem.

When the French version was updated in 1973, the changes were used to revise the Jerusalem Bible, creating the New Jerusalem Bible. The revisions were substantial. The revised version is said to be less literary but, for the most part, more literal. The introductions and footnotes, translated almost entirely from the French, have also been thoroughly revised and expanded, making it one of the most scholarly editions of the Bible.

This is one of the best apps not just for the Bible content which is outstanding, but from the perspective of navigation. It's easy to navigate to a particular location in the Bible. Breaks out the Hebrew scriptures fron the Christian scriptures with searchable indexes. Super clear text. Just awesome!! Two and a half years later and this is still my go-to bible app. I use it almost daily.

Excellent translation; Accurate and very easy to read and understand. Might be my favorite translation. Very quick so that you will not get lost when following a sermon. Easy and people friendly. Several colors to choose from when highlighting verses. Would be nice if you could choose letter styles or colors or background colors. All in all, a very nice app.

Great app, I love the new Jerusalem bible, it finally all makes sense! I would definitely recommend this version of the bible for anyone who wants to get the most out of The Word. The way it has been written, is much easier to understand, and a better read I think. I don't have to read the passages multiple times before I put it together myself, something with the KJV and the NAB I have had to previously do.
