It is a simple application that calculates MADRID-DIRECT score to help in decision-making of prehospital care of acute stroke developed for Ictus Network of the Community of Madrid.
MADRID-DIRECT scale is based on items age, systolic blood pressure, and five simple clinical items:
- Misuse of conjugate gaze
- Alteration of language: if the patient does not obey simple commands
- hemineglect (in patients with preserved language): if the patient does not recognize his own limb when asked "Whose arm is this?" or recognize its deficit when asked "Can you move your arms okay?"
- paresis of the upper limb: if the patient does not overcome gravity with said end (plane falls against the passive movement)
- paresis of the lower end: if the patient does not overcome gravity with said end (plane falls against the passive movement)
The calculation result oriented to the need to transfer the patient to the nearest stroke unit or direct transfer to the corresponding Interventional Center for evaluation of endovascular treatment of stroke.
Use of this application is reserved for qualified under the Plan of stroke care in the Community of Madrid medical staff.
