About this app

The Havamal, the "sayings from the high one" is an old text attributed to the god Odin himself. It's a collection of Old Norse poems from the Viking Age. It supports 3 version: English from Bellows, German from Simrock and Swedish from Brate.

Read a random quote every day and reflect upon its meaning and the deeper meaning of live. Now and then.

Asatru, Odinist or just curious, the Havamal is always a good read.

Poorly made, when you open the app and it loads you access the menu and.........you can't back out of it with out having to close out the app completely. Also another bonus is they have not dialed in the text so it is not centered and continues off the page and you do not get the full message. Though I like the concept, it's really not worth downloading due to poor engineering 👎

Not bad, dig the concept. However... Text needs to centered better as sometimes it runs off screen and is illegible. Lastly, Im personally not a huge fan of this translation. Maybe try to find others. All in all aside from minor difficulty in reading. Does what you'd expect and what i was looking for.

I love it, but I'll admit the stanzas are a bit difficult to understand when they're broken down and individualized, and Mt personal understanding of the old English language is a bit weak so I wish there was a "simplified understanding" of each stanza and what is supposed to represent available. Otherwise it's an excellent app!
