About the author's personality:
The Grand Ayatollah, the Martyr Sayyid Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr (may his soul be sanctified)
His birth and upbringing:
Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr (may his soul be sanctified) was born in the holy city of Kadhimiya on the twenty-fifth of Dhu al-Qi`dah in the year 1353 AH. His father was the late scholar, Sayyid Haidar al-Sadr, of great stature. And one of the prominent Islamic scholars.
His paternal grandfather, Mr. Ismail al-Sadr, was a leader of the sect, an educator of the jurists, a pride for the Shiites, a devout ascetic, well versed in jurisprudence and fundamentals, and one of the great references of the Shiites in Iraq.
As for his mother, she is Al-Saleh Al-Taqiyyah, the daughter of the late Ayatollah Sheikh Abd Al-Hussein Al Yassin, and he is one of the greatest Shiite scholars and glories.
After the death of his father, Sayyid Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr was brought up in the care of his mother and his older brother.
His writings:
The Grand Ayatollah, Sayyid Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr (may God have mercy on him) wrote many valuable books in various fields of knowledge, and they had a prominent role in the spread of Islamic thought in the Islamic arena. These books are:
1- Fadak in History: It is a study of the problem of (Fadak) and the rivalry that arose around it during the era of the first caliph.
2 Lessons in the science of assets, part one.
3 Lessons in the science of assets, part two.
4 Lessons in the science of assets, part three.
5- Research on Al-Mahdi: It is a collection of important questions about Imam Al-Mahdi (May God hasten his honorable reappearance).
6- The emergence of Shiism and Shiites.
7- An overview of worship.
8 Our Philosophy: It is an objective study in the arena of intellectual conflict between the various philosophical currents, especially Islamic philosophy, materialism, and Marxist dialectics.
9- Our Economy: It is an objective and comparative study that deals with criticism and research on the economic doctrines of Marxism, capitalism and Islam, in their intellectual foundations and details.
10- The logical foundations of induction: It is a new study of induction, aimed at discovering the common logical basis of the natural sciences and of faith in God, Blessed and Exalted be He.
11- A treatise on the science of logic: in which he objected to some logical books, which he wrote at the age of eleven.
12- The Purpose of Thought in the Science of Usul: It deals with research in the science of Usul in ten parts, one part of which was printed, which he wrote when he was eighteen years old.
13- The Islamic School: It is an attempt to introduce Islamic thought at a school level within serial seminars, including:
A- Contemporary man and the social problem.
B What do you know about the Islamic economy?
14- The New Milestones of Usul: It was printed in 1385 AH to be taught at the Faculty of Usul Al-Din.
15- The non-interest-bearing bank in Islam: This book is a treatise on compensation for usury, and a study of the activities of banks in the light of Islamic jurisprudence.
16- Research in explaining Al-Urwa Al-Wuthqa: It is an inferential research in four parts, the first part of which was published in the year 1391 AH.
17- Summary of the provisions of Hajj: It is a practical and easy treatise on the provisions and rituals of Hajj, in a modern language, issued on 1395 AH.
18- Clear Fatwas: His Practical Message, written in a modern language and a new style.
19- A Comparative Philosophical Research Between Old Philosophy and New Philosophy: He wrote it before his martyrdom and did not finish it. He talked about analyzing the human mind. It is very unfortunate that this book is missing and no one knows its fate.
20- Research on Wilayah: In this book, Al-Sayyid answered two questions, the first: How was Shiism born? The second: How did you find the Shiites?
21- A commentary on the practical message of the Grand Ayatollah, Sayyid Muhsin al-Hakim (may his soul be sanctified), called (Minhaj al-Salihin).
22- A commentary on the practical message of the Grand Ayatollah, Sheikh Muhammad Reza Al Yassin, called (in the language of the willing).
23- The Qur’anic School: It is a group of lectures he delivered on objective interpretation of the Holy Qur’an.
24- Islam Leads Life: He composed six episodes of it in the year 1399 AH, namely:
1- An introductory overview of the draft constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
2- A picture of the economy of the Islamic society.
3 detailed lines on the economy of the Islamic society.
4 The succession of man and the testimony of the prophets.
5 Sources of power in the Islamic state.
6- The general foundations of the bank in the Islamic community.
