Got my first Rubix cube. This app has been helpful in understanding how they work, but so far the academy feature isn't very beginner friendly. Tutorials are too fast with no slow down option and they don't explain the algorithms and face positions enough to understand how it's supposed to make sense. There's no help option that's actually helpful. Honestly it's pretty discouraging.

My impressions are mixed. The tutorial feature works pretty well but kids may struggle with the >30 min of concentration required. Since the app easily loses the cube's actual state it's actually easier to solve the cube and use the "Load Solved Cube" feature than to manually enter the colors. More advanced cubers may find solo scramble more frustrating than relying on WCA charts and it's not available when you lack internet, umm WHY!? Overall I found it more trouble than it's worth.

A LOT of moves and algorithms thrown at you at once to solve the cube completely. It would be better to learn one "stage" at a time to learn what to look for and master those algorithms first before moving onto the next "stage". By solving the cube completely every time, you forget how to do some of the first stages or layers. Suggest completing the first stage or two, rescramble, then do it again a few times before moving on. Learning the complete solve EVERY time gets frustrating.
