Proper ventilation can prevent mildew. Mold needs a certain minimum moisture to grow. The humidity is maintained by controlled ventilation in an optimal range, you reduce the likelihood of mold growth dramatically and also create a healthier indoor environment.
Tips for proper ventilation of living spaces find many on the Internet. Often, however, to note that you have to look out for when airing on the outdoor humidity is missing. For bringing weather data from Openweathermap.org an Internet connection is required. The app also works without an internet connection (then without weather information from the Internet).
