About this app

Park Güell is a public park of gardens and architectural elements located in Barcelona, Spain. Park Güell is located in La Salut in Barcelona's Gràcia district. With urbanization in mind, Eusebi Güell entrusted the park's design to Antoni Gaudí, a famous architect and face of Catalan modernism. Park Güell was built from 1900 to 1914 and was officially opened to the public in 1926. In 1984, UNESCO declared the park a World Heritage Site under "Works of Antoni Gaudi."

Park Güell is one of the most interesting architectural works in the world. The famous Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi, who we know with the Sagrada Familia Basilica, shows a genius with Park Güell. The architect, who is seen as the pioneer of modern architecture, challenges classical architecture with its colors, tastes, and impressive imagination. Park Güell, which could not be completed and was left unfinished despite 14 years of construction, is as important a tourism center as the Sagrada Familia Basilica. The area, which was initially planned as a garden city, turned into a city park in the later stages of the project. Park Güell is in such a unique location is primarily due to the architectural genius of Gaudi. The colors and motifs used by Gaudi in the park are so attractive that the extraordinary architectural features of the park are almost secondary. Park Güell invites you to a colorful journey with its past, present, and exceptional features...

Park Güell is located in Barcelona, the second-largest city in Spain after Madrid. Barcelona is also the capital of the Autonomous Region of Catalonia. Located in the northeast of Spain, Barcelona is 150 kilometers from the Spanish-French border. The city, which draws attention as the most crucial part of the country on the Mediterranean coast, is one of the vital trade centers located in the Mediterranean. You do not need to pay a fee to visit Park Güell, located in the Garcia district of Barcelona.

Are you walking on a rainbow, or are you in a fairy tale? Every corner of Park Güell bears the signature of the famous architect Antoni Guidi, renowned for taking his inspiration from nature. While inspired by nature, Gaudi did not transfer shapes and forms to concrete as they were. He added his interpretation by filtering the shapes and forms he saw in his heart and in his brain, which works out of the ordinary, and created motifs that could be called "strange." Pushing the limits of his creativity for Park Güell, Gaudi occasionally stayed at his home in Park Güell before moving to the Sagrada Familia. He wanted his people to modernize like all other European peoples and to be able to keep up with the innovative movements that emerged with the industrial revolution. Thanks to this motivation, he started to innovate from his works and became the pioneer of Catalan modernism in architecture.
