About this app

How Drunk Meter Works
The application estimates your Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) over time using the Widmark formula, one of the most recognized standards for this type of calculation.

The Widmark Formula
The basic calculation for each drink is: BAC (g/L) = (Grams of Alcohol / (Weight × Widmark Coefficient))

Where Grams of Alcohol are calculated as: Quantity (cL) × 10 × (Percentage ÷ 100) × 0.79

The Widmark Coefficient is an estimate of the proportion of water in the body and varies by gender (0.7 for men, 0.6 for women).

Alcohol Elimination
The body eliminates alcohol at an average rate of about 0.15 g/L per hour. The app subtracts this amount for each hour that passes from the time of consumption to project the elimination curve.

The Impact of Food
Eating while drinking slows down the absorption of alcohol. Drunk Meter applies a "food factor" that reduces the amount of alcohol absorbed based on the weight of food consumed in the hour before each drink. The reduction can range from 5% to 35% depending on the amount of food. It is important to note that a meal eaten after drinking has no effect on the alcohol that has already entered the bloodstream and does not speed up its elimination.

Reference Limit
The app displays a reference line on the graph (in orange) to indicate a specific blood alcohol content limit. This value, which defaults to 0.50 g/L (the legal driving limit in many countries), can be customized in the "Settings" screen.

Privacy and Data Saving
All application data, including profile settings, favorites, and consumption history, are saved exclusively on your device. No information is sent or stored online. To keep the session clean, all consumed items older than 24 hours are automatically deleted when the app starts.
