So far it's perfect! I honestly don't know if it comes with ads, because I just simply turn off the Wi-Fi, and use it for sharpening my chess skills offline. Works fine for the puzzles, but I don't think it can Analyze fully without internet access. After I play around with the app more and discover all the pros and cons, I will come back and update this review.

would love to see some sort of "heat map" on the level screen for each section. green if you solved with no errors, red had an error. that way I can go back revisit problems that I didn't get the first time. also when going thru the progress section, if it would tell what move should of been made, hard to learn from mistakes if you don't know what you did wrong.

The app has 6 daily of differing difficulty. You can ask for a hint if stuck. There is an engine where you can try out things you thought would work to see your error. The puzzles use various patterns, so you'll likely learn something. The puzzles aren't strictly puzzles (aka only one move that wins). Sometimes, 2+ win and you need to find the best move. This makes the puzzles feel different than real puzzles but in a good way. You feel more like you're playing a match due to this.
