While intended to streamline the rating process for digital games, the automated questionnaire approach has raised questions about the accuracy of ratings, particularly at lower age levels. Critics argue that the nuanced nature of game content might be overlooked, potentially leading to games with mild violence or in-app purchase.

Some ratings can be pretty inaccurate. Some descriptions don't make sense to the app or game, and some age ratings are far too inaccurate.
