About this app

This project ports the Windows application Emu48 written in C to Android.
It uses the Android NDK. The former Emu48 source code (written by Christoph Giesselink) remains untouched because of a thin win32 emulation layer above Linux/NDK!
This win32 layer will allow to easily update from the original Emu48 source code.
It can open or save the exact same state files (state.e48/e49) than the original Windows application!

Some KML files with theirs faceplates are embedded in the application but it is still possible to open a KML file and its dependencies by selecting a folder.

The application does not request any permission (because it opens the files or the KML folders using the content:// scheme).

The application is distributed with the same license under GPL and you can find the source code here:
https://github.com/dgis/emu48android

QUICK START

1. Click on the 3 dots button at the top left (or from the left side, slide your finger to open the menu).
2. Touch the "New..." menu item.
3. Select a default calculator (or "[Select a Custom KML script folder...]" where you have copied the KML scripts and ROM files (Android 11 cannot use the folder Download)).
4. And the calculator should now be opened.

Really great calculator. I found this after having run into a really nasty bug with Droid48 that required me to uninstall/reinstall to clear. I found this through Droid48 Reader. To me, this emulator seems more capable. One thing I noticed is that I am not able to enter lower case characters like on Droid48. I have very little experience with a real 48 so I don't know how the real one behaves.

Some minor issues with the display unless I use the bog standard portrait mode HP-50g skin. That one works perfectly, almost better than the real thing. The other included 50g skins cause keypress lag and other strange issues that don't detract from this outstanding app. Great work! Running on an old Samsung tablet with Android 4.4.3. Wish list - an expanded display (as if the calculator had a larger display screen). Maybe that isn't possible.

This is a very good transfer of HP calculator to android, but the app has a problem. When you enter numbers into it, often a white rectangle flashes at the right bottom corner and messes up the input. You have to be careful and wait until the rectangle is gone, otherwise you have to start entering again.

You can uncheck the option "Allow to pinch to zoom" to prevent unwanted zoom...
