For context: I forced myself to get as far as possible without using any IRL cash - managed to get to level 141 before it reached a point I couldn't convince myself to continue. The issues: 1. Repetitive: The levels are basically repeats of themselves. You may get a new level configuration every 20ish levels. 2. The ads: they're excessive and it wasn't until level 139 I was really having an issue because the ads aren't skippable and increased in their duration. Overall, not really worth it.

The new updates have made the game too difficult to progress without spending money or watching ads. There are no instructions for the new features, and frequently the updates cause the menus to switch from English to unreadable kanji. The latest update introduced glitches that make the menu bar disappear and reappear randomly, requiring a trip to "Commander" or "Trading Center" to fix. I have enjoyed this game for years, but now it's just too much. Hard to enjoy.

At it's core it's a neat take on the genre. I like the idea of building my collection and capabilities. But I'm about 5 days into the game and I'm already blocked from advancing and playing new levels without spending money. If I want to progress for free I'm watching 25 ads per day minimum, and I paid for the "remove active popup ads" option. The latest event has been super buggy and the overlay screws up the app which forces me to restart the game. I really want to like it but it's not for me.
