Great concept to get the kids interested in being outdoors/map reading etc but the app is really fussy about accuracy of the GPS position (spent 30 minutes on a rugby pitch hoping the little man icon would catch up with my true position). Worse than that it seems to require mobile data to actually take a zone. Walked two miles but I couldn't 'take' the zone because mobile reception wasn't good enough. Frustrating! However it did get my son walking the two miles so worth a try.

This is such a superb app and game. If you are at risk of being an addict then this is such a wonderful way to placate your addiction issues, lol. The fitness element is good if you walk or cycle to the zones, my competitive issues, (second place is first of the losers) is satiated by taking other people's zones and Turf is such a good way to see a new town or city. If I am going to another place in the UK I suss out the zones on the route and then plan at least 1 or 2 days to go turfing.❤

Great fun game/sport for keeping active and exploring your local area, or wherever you happen to be. Addictive once you get into it. It must be said that the user interface is not overly intuitive, so its worth reading the FAQ, forums, and talking to other Turf players. There are some great tools for analysis or your turfing, or planning your turf sessions. However many of these are actually third party sites. Odd, yes, but ok considering Turf is available free (unless you opt to support).
