Advances in computer vision research have made it possible for a phone to see!

This app tells you what it is looking at and vibrates based on how confident it is. When using this app you will wave the phone around you until you feel it vibrating more and more which means you are getting closer to an object it understands.

The convolutional neural network inside the app can understand 1000 classes based on ImageNet classes. This app has been tested on the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 phones. Please report issues so I can make a note of them here.

I'm releasing this tool for the blind free because I hope this app will help people live a better life.

I'm blind. I used to need to rely on others to help me live most part of my life. One day, they told me to download this app on my phone. It changed my life, I no longer need to have a person beside me to help me do things as I don't know where they are now. This app describe what I would see in near real-time! I can now even cross a busy road now since nobody would want to help me. They told me this app is very accurate. Thank you Joseph for creating this wonderful app.

I tried this out around my living room and it got most of the items incorrect. I think that it did things quickly but it was not accurate at all.
