We are an association of health professionals who are passionate about respiratory medicine.
Unlike many other societies which are represented by only one specialty, the Society of
Respiratory Medicine Vadodara, also known as Baroda Chest Group, is unique for it has
members from various different fields of medicine such as radiology, microbiology, thoracic
surgery, physiotherapy, oncology, pathology, minimally invasive surgery, critical care,
radiation oncology, general medicine, surgical oncology and of course pulmonary medicine.
United by their common interest in lungs and with a single motto of providing the best
possible care to patients with respiratory diseases, the Baroda Chest Group began in an
informal way when 18 specialists convened together on 21 January 2010 in the first - floor
hall of a radiologist’s clinic. The monthly meetings discussed interesting respiratory cases and
members shared their experiences. With increasing popularity, our academic activities
increased on a larger scale and what began as a closed group, metamorphosed into a regional
and then a national group. Over the years we, welcomed into our family, more specialist who
shared our philosophy and now with a strength of 80 members, we have been marching
ahead as young and enthusiastic members join our journey. Our strides have become more
confident and purposeful, for we strongly endorse the words of Henri Ford - Coming together
is the beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success
