PolySpeaker Listener lets you listen to your tour guide using your own smartphone.
It works together with PolySpeaker Broadcast, the app used by the guide. Together they provide a smartphone-based Tour Guide Audio System, offering an alternative to traditional whisper systems and dedicated receivers.
No special receiver required
You don't need to carry a separate receiver or audio device.
Your smartphone becomes your tour audio receiver.
The guide uses PolySpeaker Broadcast on their smartphone, while PolySpeaker Listener receives the guide's voice through the local Wi-Fi network created for the tour.
No internet required
Poly Speaker communicates over a local Wi-Fi network.
You do not need mobile data or internet access to listen to the guide.
The guide normally creates the local network using a small pocket Wi-Fi router.
Joining your tour
The guide creates a specific tour and displays a QR code.
Simply scan the QR code with PolySpeaker Listener to join the tour.
This ensures that you receive audio from your tour, even when several tours are operating nearby.
Stay connected
If your smartphone temporarily loses communication with the local Wi-Fi network, PolySpeaker Listener is designed to automatically reconnect to the same tour when communication is restored.
If necessary, simply press RECONNECT.
You can also use:
AUDIO ON/OFF — mute or restore the guide's audio
LEAVE/JOIN — leave the current tour or join another tour
