Über diese App

Your acting career starts now.

First Take is the mobile companion for actors, from the first steps to the first booking and beyond. A career roadmap, daily practice tools, a self-tape studio and the business side of acting, all in one app.

Whether you are just starting out or getting serious about the work, First Take is a personal studio in your pocket.

YOUR CAREER ROADMAP
Start with a curated checklist of career milestones, then add your own Personal Goals to build a plan that tracks your journey from day one.

PRACTICE: YOUR ACTING GYM
• Cold Read Generator: sharpen your instincts with original scenes dealt at random, then record your read.
• Monologue & Scene Library: find your next audition piece among classic and contemporary scripts, filterable by genre and cast size. Keep favourites within reach.
• Self-Tape Studio: record self-tapes with your script on screen, keep several takes, compare them side by side and upload the best one.

THE BUSINESS OF ACTING
• Audition Tracker: log every submission, callback and booking, with project, role and casting director, in colour-coded statuses.
• Calendar: every audition on a month view with status markers, so nothing sneaks up on you.
• Casting Calls: a curated list of casting sites for your country, plus a log of the applications you send from any site, with status and follow-ups in one place.
• Experience Log: a private journal for what you learned in a workshop, who you met on set and what to do differently next time.
• Financial Tracker: record income and expenses, from day rates to headshots and union dues, and see where the money goes.

YOUR MATERIALS
• Portfolio Builder: keep your credits, training and featured work in one place, then export a professional résumé PDF with your headshot, contact details, physical stats, skills and representation. Three templates, with a preview before you share.
• Reel Builder: upload your best takes and performance clips to the cloud and organise the clips for your showreel.

KNOW THE INDUSTRY
• Industry Guide: country-by-country guides to how the business works: unions, representation, casting, training and where to look for work.
• Resource Directory: curated acting classes, headshot photographers, agents, film hubs and theatres in industry cities around the world.

FOR THE PEOPLE WHO WORK WITH ACTORS
Headshot photographers, coaches, agencies, casting directors, studios and theatres can create a Business Profile and list their services in the Resource Directory, where actors are already looking.
