The old versions were MUCH better, now its just based on luck, no strategy

You can change combat mode (random/deterministic) in the Test Lab in the menu.

With the latest changes the game is even more fantastic! It would be nice to be able to save games (only the initial map). Some quick games are a shame not being able to play them over and over again.

Nice idea. We've added in into our list so it may appear in the future.
BTW now we are working on adding a multiplayer into the game. This will take a while so no any ETA for now but we hope that it will take not very long before we can launch the first public build with this feature

- Default combat mode now is non-random
Update 1.7.4 provides a few important fixes:
- Fixed bug when ads banner overlapped UI on the game screen
- Unfortunately, the tutorial didn't start on the first launch as it should be. Now it's fixed and new users will see the tutorial on their first launch
- Minor UI fixes and some other very minor changes
- Default combat mode now is non-random
