About this app

This Android application is an explanation of the difference between wills and inheritance by Muhammad Ajib, Lc., MA. In PDF format.

One of the important discussions related to property ownership is the issue of grants, wills & inheritance. It turns out that there are still many of us who do not understand or even cannot distinguish between a grant, will and inheritance.

There was a father before his death called all his children in order to divide the wealth. Usually this father will say to his children "Son, you want to share the inheritance".

Well, the term that the father mentioned was actually wrong. Even though it is true that the term grant is used, not for inheritance.

There was also a father who, before his death, called all his children and said "Son, later if father dies, this house is for your youngest sibling, OK?"

Well, this is called a will. Even though a will like this is unlawful because a will may not be assigned to heirs.

There is also a father who, before his death, had donated a car to his youngest child. It turned out that when the father died, the car was legally divided into inheritance.

Well, this is a big mistake. Because the property that has been donated cannot be shared by inheritance because it no longer belongs to the father.

There was also a father before his death called all his children and he said "Son, later if father dies, basically all of your property, please give it to the poor widow in the corner of the village, OK?"

Well, this is called a will. Even though a will like this is illegal because the will cannot exceed 1/3 of the assets owned.

And there are many more cases that according to Islamic law are not justified. Perhaps this happened due to the lack of knowledge of the Muslims regarding grants, wills and inheritance.

Well, it is on the basis of some of the cases above that we as authors have compiled this simple and short book with the aim of helping Muslims understand the science of fiqh related to grants, wills and inheritance.
