Movies and TV shows. We love them. Well we love some of them. Many of them are pants. In-fact most of them are pants. Just think of all the time we waste watching Movies and TV shows that turn out to be pants.
If only we we had some means of skimming just the cream! Think how much time you would save. Think how enriched your streaming life would be.
Public ratings aren’t the answer. Movie ratings on popular services such as IMDB and Meta-critic are so often manipulated with legions of bots or review bombing.
Professional critics aren’t the answer. The gap between critics and joe public has done nothing but widen in recent years as critics continue to push films that fit their political views, and smear those that don’t. Buck The Critics!
The answer is to conspire with the people you know and trust. That’s your friends and family!
BUILD THE ULTIMATE REVIEWS DATABASE
Imagine this scenario… your slouched in your undies… Scrolling through a thousand thumbnails across half a dozen streaming services. What to watch? They’re all just so colourful!
You open Buck The Critics… You fancy a horror so you filter for those… Oh look… here’s 4 or 5 options that your friends rated 8 or above…
But it’s smarter than that! As you and your friends review movies, it tracks and compares your rating histories. You build up a ‘trust’ score… Through super advanced algorithms that have absolutely nothing to do with AI, the ratings you see are weighted based on ratings, averages and trust. The scores you see are personal to you. They’re a prediction of how YOU would rate a film and they get more accurate the more you and your friends review stuff.
So how do you review stuff? Well you can browse any film or TV show through our integration with the enormous TMDB database of course!

Sleep like a baby knowing that your movie reviews have been validated by your friends! Through Buck The Critics groundbreaking thumb buttons, you can upvote or downvote any review. Heck you can even get a discussion going!
However beware… If you do something mental like rate Galaxy Quest poorly, you might find yourself getting ratio’d by your friends… Ouch.

Buck the critics tracks your average ratings across directors. Over time you might discover you tend to be a massive fan of the works of Luc Besson… maybe you didn’t even know that. Perhaps you should check out their other stuff?
