TROUBLESHOOTING
- If the game won't start and presents a black screen, please go to Android's Settings > Accessibility > Visibility Enhancements and disable Remove Animations.​ (This problem is exclusive to Samsung Galaxy devices.)
- On some devices, GPU acceleration can cause crashes. If a crash occurs, please go to GnollHack's Settings and disable Game GPU Acceleration there.

Ratings and reviews

Interesting, but very clunky. In a game that involves so much inventory and menu navigation, it's wild that the feature is so poorly implemented. Lots of nonsensical functions, such as picks equipping as a weapon whenever you dig, forcing you to navigate back through the menus to find your original weapon and reequip it. Or being unable to examine or use multiple items without the inventory resetting it's scroll position to the top every time. Little things creating a frustrating experience.

This game is awesome. I have waited a long time for someone to take the old school nethack style game play and make it not so... antiquated. It's easy to look at, voice acted, and just in general an excellent game. I hope people learn from what they did right here, such as the many varying classes, including samurai (a personal favorite) and many more, or the unlimited variance and replayablilty. There is a lot to be learned from not only this style of game but how this was developed.

Amazing adaptation of the OG granddaddy of roguelikes, the classic Nethack. But with an actual good control scheme for mobile and nice visuals and sound. Hands down the best "port" of nethack I've seen. Better than even Vulture on PC & gurr's mobile port. Accessibility features baked in like the npc at the entrance and streamlined HUD make it way more approachable for new players. A real upgrade for a game notorious for its complexity. Amazing work 10/10. I might actually finish a run now
