Experience the city from a new perspective. Wantalon has its root in Old High German and means to walk, move, change. As an app, Wantalon is a mediator between public space and art and turns the city into a large-scale gallery. She takes the users by the hand and walks with them through the city.
Wantalon is an art project by Petra Mattheis, whose basic idea came about in the first two years of the pandemic, when museums and galleries were closed. When it became clear that we would have to deal with Covid-19 in the future as well, the idea of an art course that existed and can be visited independently of the interior was born.
The first Wantalon course has the title #zeitzseeing and leads through the small town of Zeitz in the south of Saxony-Anhalt. The two artists Petra Mattheis and Sascha Nau created a photographic tour, a personal view of the city. Stations can be discovered and collected using the central map. Anyone who has collected more than five stations has the opportunity to send a digital postcard from Zeitz.
How it works:
The interactive map guides you to the stations, which are automatically unlocked as soon as you get close to them. You can see pictures and text for each station. On the first parcours #zeitzseeing you can send digital postcards after you have visited five stations.
