Bounds is an on-device layout inspector for Android developers, UI designers, and QA engineers. Open the app you're building (or any screen you're studying), tap the floating side button, and Bounds draws the live view hierarchy over the screen: element bounds, sizes in dp, margins and padding, resource IDs, text, and 30+ properties per view — measured exactly, with no computer, no USB cable, no root, and no debuggable build required.

HOW IT WORKS — AND EXACTLY WHAT IT ACCESSES

Bounds uses Android's Accessibility Service API to read the view hierarchy of the window on screen. That is the entire use: reading layout information so measurements can be drawn over it.

- Read-only. Bounds never taps, types, or performs actions on your behalf.
- On-device only. Screen content is processed on your phone and is never uploaded, stored on our servers, or shared.
- You stay in control. Inspection runs only during a session you start, a persistent notification shows whenever the service is active, and you can stop it or revoke the permission at any time.

FREE AND PRO

The free plan includes full inspection with generous session limits — enough to know if Bounds fits your workflow. Bounds Pro unlocks unlimited inspection sessions and premium tools. Subscriptions are billed through Google Play and can be cancelled anytime in Play's subscription settings.

PERMISSIONS, PLAINLY

- Accessibility Service — reads on-screen layout to draw measurements (see above)
- Display over other apps — draws the measurement overlay
- Notifications — the session notification that lets you stop inspection at any time

PRIVACY

Bounds reads UI metadata on your device only; nothing about the screens you inspect leaves your phone. Authentication and billing are handled by Firebase Authentication and Google Play Billing. Full policy: https://bounds.web.app/privacy
