Alexus 2040 is a throwback to the early shoot 'em ups of the 80's, the 'fixed shooters' (fixed axis) that created the genre.
The style could be defined as 'hard retro': the game may be an entirely new creation, but the pixel art and sounds are as authentic as they can be, unapologetically, without compromise.
While the game is simple to control but frantic, a variety of unique and creative power-ups, some of them inspired by arcade games beyond the shoot 'em up genre, come to spice up the experience.
