SolarRing shows you the sun's daily cycle as a minimalist widget on your home screen.
Three concentric rings visualize the different phases of the sun — from astronomical twilight to golden hour to daylight. A time indicator shows you where you are in the day.
What you see:
• Outer ring: Day (warm/orange) and night (cool/blue)
• Middle ring: Twilight phases and golden hour
• Inner circle: Daylight and darkness
• White dot: Your current position in the course of the day

How it works:
SolarRing calculates the sun's position using astronomical formulas (NOAA algorithm) for your current location. The phase boundaries are based on the sun's altitude: -18° (astronomical twilight), -12° (nautical twilight), -6° (civil twilight), 0° (sunrise/sunset), and 6° (golden hour).
Location:
The app uses your location exclusively locally to calculate sun times. No data is transferred or stored. Without GPS access, Berlin is used as the default location.
Add widget:
Long press on your home screen → Widgets → Select SolarRing → Place.
