There is a needle in this haystack. There is a needle in the next one too.

Tap the stack. Straws fly. Somewhere in there is a needle, and the only way to find out where is to keep digging.

🌾 FIND THE NEEDLE
Every haystack hides one needle somewhere between a third of the way down and the very bottom. Sometimes you get lucky on the tenth tap. Sometimes you earn every single straw. The stack visibly empties as you dig.

🐄 HIRE HELP
Nimble Fingers, work gloves, a pitchfork. Then farmhands, a barn cat, a seasonal crew and eventually a combine thresher. Twelve upgrades in all, and the ones that dig for you keep working while the app is closed; up to eight hours of progress waiting when you come back.

🪡 COLLECT ELEVEN NEEDLES
From the entirely unremarkable Sewing Needle to the Golden Needle, the Obsidian Needle and the one they told you about. Six rarity tiers, each with its own flavour. Better luck pulls better needles, and the collection survives everything.

🔥 BALE OUT
Clear eight haystacks and you can burn the whole barn down for a permanent hay multiplier. You keep your needle collection. You lose the hay, the upgrades and every stack you cleared. It is worth it.

👍 ONE THUMB, NO PRESSURE
No timers demanding you come back. No lives to run out. No punishment for putting it down for a week; the crew will have been busy the whole time.

Idle Haystack is free to play and supported by optional ads. Watching one is always your choice: nothing in the game is locked behind an advert. Watch one to double your hay for four hours, to double what the crew dug up while you were away, or to guarantee your next needle is a rare one. Or don't, and just keep tapping.
