À propos de ce jeu

On the edge of an African oasis, six animals play warri all day — a giraffe, a cape buffalo, a crocodile, a rhino, a lion, and an elephant. They chat, they taunt, they cheer. Sometimes a parrot drops in from the Caribbean to teach them the strategies the world's best players have polished over centuries.

That's the game on your phone. Sow stones, sweep your opponent's pits, listen to the giraffe celebrate and the lion gloat. The board is centuries old; the personalities are entirely new.

MEET THE ANIMALS

Each opponent has its own voice, lines, and play style — each a step stronger than the last. Beat them all and the hidden boss unlocks: a chimpanzee who really, really thinks. Tap any animal during your turn and it talks back.

LEARN AND IMPROVE

A friendly rule walkthrough at first launch covers sowing, captures, and the must-feed rule. After your first game, the Caribbean parrot flies in to share a free strategy lesson — defense, the Big House sweep, endgame tempo. He can also review your finished games move by move and show you the better choices you could have made — one free review per day, unlimited with Premium.

GAME MODES

• Single-player against the AI animals. Optional Undo + AI Tip if you want a hand.
• Two-player hot-seat on one device — pass the phone, take turns, taunt each other through the avatars.

PROPER WARRI / OWARE

Real rules, played the way they're played in West Africa. The defaults are the Warri rules — grand-slam captures count, no awkward edge cases — which keeps things clean for newcomers. If you grew up on the Oware Abapa tradition where a grand slam doesn't capture, flip the rule in Settings. Either way: counter-clockwise sowing, captures of two or three on the opposite row, mandatory feeding, repetition stalemate. First to 25 stones wins; 24–24 is a tie.

DESIGNED FOR PHONES

• Plays fully offline.
• 24 languages, picked from your system locale automatically.
• Two free themes (savanna sunset, oasis day) plus a Caribbean sunset that unlocks with Premium.
• Two animation speeds — fast for veterans, normal for the silliness.

FREE WITH A FEW ADS

A short ad pops up once every three single-player games — never in two-player, never mid-turn. That's fewer ads than most free games. A one-time Ad-Free purchase removes them entirely. Premium goes further: ad-free, the Caribbean-sunset skin, bigger per-game help budget (3 Undos and 2 AI Tips instead of 1 each), and unlimited parrot game reviews.

ABOUT THE GAME

Warri / Oware / Awalé is one of the oldest board games in the world — Awalé in Côte d'Ivoire, Oware in Ghana, Ayo or Ayoayo in Nigeria, Warri or Awari in the Caribbean, Ouril in Cape Verde, plus Wari, Wuri, Adi and Awalee elsewhere. Part of the mancala family played from Senegal to the Caribbean to South Asia. This app is a small love letter to it: clean rules, hand-drawn cartoon style, a band of oasis animals who like to talk smack, and a parrot who flew in to help.
