In modern times, the most common surnames have changed as the population of China grows. Traditionally, these surnames are displayed in a tabular layout.
The Hundred Chinese Surnames app introduces a new interactive spiral-based visualization of these surnames. You can explore the surnames in many ways.
1. Drag the slider left and right to scroll through the spiral of names.
2. Rotate the spiral directly with your finger.
3. Search for a specific surname using the menu.
4. Tap on a surname to learn more about its history, its pronunciation, and famous people with that name.
