Chat to deaf
is an app created to help deaf people communicate with hearing people.

It is based on TTS (Text To Speech) and Speech Recognition technologies made available by Google. (Use the language set on your device.)

The app consists of a chat that transforms written text into audio so that it can be heard by hearing people, and at the same time transforms the words spoken by the interlocutor into text that is read in the same chat by the deaf person.
In practice it works as a chat for deaf people, and as a voice recognizer for hearing people.

The dialogue takes place as between hearing people, no sync button is needed.
However, it is possible to stop and reactivate the voice recognizer using the relevant icon.

Furthermore, it is possible to memorize a list of common phrases, using a special editor, which can be used in the chat to speed up the dialogue.

-increase the speaker volume
-change the speed of the speaker
-change the chat font size
-memorize commonly used phrases to speed up conversation

Speakers should use phrases that are not too long and not speak too quickly.

Attention:
In OFF-LINE mode, performance may depend on the type of device, furthermore on some devices it may be necessary to download the
voice recognition language: Google app->accounts->settings->voice->offline voice recognition

In the dark mode of your device, you may experience problems viewing the menus.

For optimal functioning of the app it is necessary to deactivate the Google assistant.
Turn off Google Assistant by opening the Google app and tapping on your profile icon in the top-right corner. Then, go to Settings > Google Assistant > General and toggle off Google Assistant.
