SecureMsg turns any WhatsApp chat into a private one, for the messages you choose.

Write a message, take a photo, record a voice note or a short video, and SecureMsg encrypts it on your phone before anything leaves it. What lands in your friend's WhatsApp chat is a small locked card. Only the friend you connected with can open it. WhatsApp, the network, and we ourselves never see what is inside.

Everything else stays the same. Your family groups, your everyday chats, your contacts: untouched. SecureMsg is only for the messages you decide should be private, sent to the contacts you pick.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Connect once. Pick a contact, and a connection request goes into their WhatsApp chat. You get an 8-character code.
2. Hand over the code on a call or by SMS. They enter it once. Both phones are now connected.
3. Send anything. Text, photos, voice notes, videos and files. Each one is encrypted with a fresh key and opens by itself on their phone. No more codes, ever.

WHAT YOU GET
• Locked cards in WhatsApp. A message shows up as a SecureMsg document. Tap Open and it lands in the app, decrypted.
• Connections, not passwords. One code per friend, once. Reconnect after a reinstall, or unlink any time.
• Voice, photo and video from inside the chat, played back in the app.
• App lock. A 6-digit PIN or a pattern unique to SecureMsg, with fingerprint or face as the everyday shortcut. Five wrong attempts erase the app's data. A security question lets you set a new lock if you forget it.
• Your choice of cipher. AES-256-GCM by default, or ChaCha20-Poly1305, or AES-CBC with HMAC. Standard, published algorithms only.
• Keys that expire. A message key is parked in our vault for seven days, handed out once, then deleted. Revoke a message yourself at any time before it is opened.
• Light and dark themes.

WHAT WE CAN SEE, AND WHAT WE CANNOT
• Message content never leaves your phone unencrypted.
• The card WhatsApp carries is opaque. Forward it, back it up, screenshot it: nothing readable is in it.
• Our vault holds a wrapped key for a few days, plus a message id and a timestamp. It never holds content, names, numbers or contacts.
• No accounts, no sign-up, no phone number given to us, no analytics, no ads.

WHO IT IS FOR
Anyone who sends something on WhatsApp that should not be forwarded, backed up or read by whoever picks up the phone: documents, photos, business details, family matters. Both people need SecureMsg; the person you write to installs it, enters your code once, and that is the whole setup.

REQUIREMENTS
Android 8 or newer. WhatsApp installed for direct delivery to a contact; any other app works through the share sheet. The other person needs SecureMsg too.
