The I-Ching, or Book of Changes, is a very accurate Chinese divination method used by the ancestors. It is also known by other names such as Yijing or I King.
In a Yijing prediction, there can be 64 different combinations. If no changing lines appear in a spread, it means that the matter you are asking about is stable or there are no major changes.
How to make an IChing spread?
To consult the I Ching you only have to follow 3 simple steps:
1. Think of a clear and concise question that you want to solve. 2.
2. Toss the 3 coins 6 times while you think about your question.
3. Depending on how the coins have fallen, your result will be formed in the form of a hexagram.
How are hexagrams formed?
Depending on whether the coins land on heads or tails, a type of line is added to form two trigrams which are then joined together to form a hexagram:
- 3 heads form a line with a dot
- 3 crosses form a line cut with a cross
- 2 faces and 1 cross form a cut line
- 2 crosses and 1 face form a line
The interpretation of hexagrams is very complete. There is a general description of the hexagrams, including quotations and an explanation of them, explanation of the judgment, the image and the changing lines.
