The Australian Alps are home to a unique assemblage of insects, many of which are found nowhere else in the world. This app was developed as a reference for all users of Australia’s high country. It contains descriptions and images of the insects most likely to be encountered in the field, as well as some rare and hard-to- find species. The content of this app has been developed by scientists who are studying the ecology and evolution of insects in the Australian high country. Over time, we will continue to add species and refine descriptions but all users of this app are also welcome to contribute. If you have photos or information that would improve the quality of the app, please send us a message or see the "Get Involved" page within the app.
