ExonMesh is an offline peer-to-peer communication app for text messages and voice notes between nearby Android devices over Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).

Stay connected with nearby devices without cellular data, Wi-Fi, or an internet connection. ExonMesh uses direct Bluetooth LE communication, local processing, and optional PIN-based encryption to provide a private offline communication experience.

1. Offline Chat & Voice Notes

• Text Messaging: Send and receive messages directly between nearby devices.

• Voice Notes: Press and hold the microphone button to record a voice note, then release to send it to nearby peers.

• Live Audio Visualization: See a real-time waveform while recording your voice.

• Audio Cues: Optional squelch effects and Roger Beep sounds provide a familiar walkie-talkie-style experience.

• Quick Replies: Send frequently used messages quickly from the chat screen.

2. PIN-Based Encryption

• AES-256-GCM: ExonMesh uses AES-256-GCM encryption for protected communication.

• Shared Room PIN: Devices using the same Room PIN can derive the same encryption key for encrypted messages.

• Local Encryption: Encryption and decryption are performed directly on your device.

• No Cloud Dependency: Communication does not require a remote server.

• On-Device Processing: Messages, voice notes, peer discovery, and encryption are handled locally.

3. Bluetooth LE Peer-to-Peer

• No Internet Required: Communicate without cellular data or an internet connection.

• Nearby Device Discovery: Automatically discover compatible ExonMesh devices nearby using Bluetooth Low Energy.

• Direct P2P Communication: Exchange messages and voice notes directly with nearby devices.

• Signal Information: View nearby peers and Bluetooth signal strength (RSSI).

• Nearby Devices: Quickly see compatible ExonMesh peers currently within Bluetooth range.

4. Channels & Local Storage

• Communication Channels: Switch between predefined channels for organizing conversations.

• Local Message History: Messages and communication history can be stored locally on your device.

• Local Configuration: Peer information, callsign, room settings, and preferences remain on-device.

• Offline-First Design: Core communication is designed to work without centralized cloud infrastructure.

5. Modern Tactical Interface

ExonMesh features a dark, high-contrast interface designed for quick access to nearby peers, messages, voice notes, channels, signal information, and encryption controls.

Whether conventional internet connectivity is unavailable or you simply want direct communication between nearby devices, ExonMesh provides Bluetooth LE peer-to-peer messaging and voice notes without relying on cloud servers.

Bluetooth must be enabled, and devices must be within Bluetooth range for communication.
