DoorProof is a fire door inspection and reporting app for qualified inspectors,
door contractors and passive fire protection specialists who inspect
assemblies for clients.
Complete the inspection at the door, capture the record offline, and generate
a signed PDF inspection report. DoorProof is built for documented annual fire
door inspections under NFPA 80, subject to the code edition and requirements
adopted by the local authority having jurisdiction.
WHAT IT DOES
• Measure perimeter gaps on an interactive door schematic. Tap the top jamb,
hinge side, latch side, meeting stile or undercut and set the reading. Each
measurement is compared with the selected rule set, and the permitted band is
shown on screen as you work.
• Apply built-in NFPA 80 clearance rules for supported assembly
configurations, including separate perimeter and undercut limits, and
separate bands for wood and steel leaves. The applicable rule and the
selected standard are recorded with the inspection.
• Work in inches or millimetres. In inches the reading steps in sixteenths and
shows as the fraction the standard is written in, so a 1/8 in. gap reads as
1/8 in. rather than as a converted decimal.
• Work through a guided inspection covering the NFPA 80 inspection criteria,
grouped into eight practical sections for faster field entry: leaf and frame
condition, gaps and clearances, edge seals and smoke-control components,
hinges and hardware, self-closing operation, hold-open release, glazing, and
signage and labels. Nothing is recorded as a pass unless you mark it.
• Attach photo evidence to any checklist item, and sign the inspection on the
device.
• Scan a QR or asset tag on the door to open that door's specification and full
inspection history in one tap. Print tag sheets for a whole building at once.
• Raise corrective work orders automatically from failed items, ordered by
priority, with target dates.
• Export a multi-page PDF inspection report and deficiency register per
building, with the gap readings, the checklist, photo evidence, your
credentials and your signature.
• Schedule annual inspections and any additional intervals required by the
owner, the contract or the local authority, with a reminder before each one
falls due.
• Keep everything on the device. There is no account, no portal and no
connection required to complete an inspection.
• Back up and restore a whole portfolio in one file, photos and signatures
included, so moving to a new phone does not lose the record.
An optional UK rule set supports commissioned surveys using BS 8214:2016 and
applicable Regulation 10 checks.

substitute for certified structural fire engineering assessments or statutory
