TimerX needs Android Accessibility Service permission to function properly. This allows TimerX to detect when selected apps are opened, start app timers, and show blocking screens at the right moment. TimerX only reads app launch/foreground events for the apps you add timers for. No Accessibility Service data leaves your phone.

Permissions & Privacy

TimerX uses Android Accessibility Service only to detect app launch/foreground events for the apps you personally add timers for. This is required for app timers, blocking screens, daily limits, and usage tracking to work reliably.

TimerX does not read messages, passwords, personal content, notifications, or anything you type in other apps through Accessibility Service.

No Accessibility Service data leaves your phone.

TimerX may store your selected apps, timer settings, usage counts, planner items, and Reason Unlock responses where applicable. This is used to power app timers, reports, overlays, and blocking decisions.

TimerX does not require an account to use the core app experience.

Additional permissions may include:

Ignore Battery Optimisations – keeps timers reliable in the background.
Post Notifications – sends optional reminders for limits, sessions, and app activity.

This update brings a major UI refresh for a cleaner and smoother TimerX experience. We have also simplified permissions by removing unused Display over other apps and Usage Stats requirements. TimerX now relies only on Accessibility permission for its core blocking features. Includes UI refinements, version updates and internal improvements.
