The purpose of this app is to help you memorize a few common expressions and useful vocabulary words in the Javanese language (spoken by the majority of people on the island of Java in Indonesia).
To use the app, simply specify the range of cards you'd like to cycle through from the entire set. You may also swap which language is displayed first by toggling the checkbox labeled "Swap Languages". Click start and the flashcards in the range you selected will be shuffled. Clicking the top card of the pile will reveal the answer as well as move it down and out of the way. If you click the card again after it's revealed it will be moved to a "repeat" pile so you can try it again later.
There are different levels of formality used in Javanese depending on social status and the relationship between the people in conversation. Ngoko is the least formal and can be used among peers/friends. Kromo (kråmå) is used when talking to someone of superior status or in formal settings like speeches (using it shows humility). In this set of phrases, when the Javanese phrase given is the less formal (Ngoko) it will be marked with lowercase 'ngoko'. When a phrase is given in Kromo (more formal/respectful), it will be marked as KROMO.
