FixMyCity is available for free to smart device users. The citizens
they can install the app on their device and
use in order to report damage at the points they wish, but also to monitor the progress of their reports.
In particular, every citizen has the possibility to locate his position
through the application, which performs an automatic location check. In
case where the citizen is located outside the municipality's boundaries, the application
returns a relevant message and does not allow the process to continue.
In the case of locating the citizen's position within the municipality's boundaries, h
application allows the selection of damage category (waste,
lighting, etc.) from a ready-made menu and then selecting the type of damage with
the same way. He then fills in contact information while he can
to insert photo downloadable through the app. Choosing
"submit" the system registers the fault and will assign a protocol number,
which is communicated to the citizen. At the same time, she sends him a message
email, which informs him of its receipt
request. When the fault is corrected, the system informs
again the citizen for the successful outcome of his request.
Given that positioning accuracy depends on the
device of the respective citizen, during the detection phase described
above, the citizen has the possibility to correct his position with
manually within the application. Specifically, once the position is identified
on the map, the citizen can drag his mark and
place where desired. In addition, there is also a possibility
to correct (relocate) the position automatically.
