About this app

Got a cat and want to keep them entertained? Then this is the app for your furry feline. This app is designed to work with either a robotic arm that controls a laser pointer, or it can be used without a robotic arm and simulate a laser pointer on a phone or tablet.

Watch the video of it in action on my YouTube channel:

To use with a robotic arm, you will need to assemble one from parts that are available on Amazon or elsewhere online. The instructions on what to purchase and how to assemble the arm is only available to my Patreon members. While you can purchase an automated laser pointer on Amazon, this app, combined with a robotic arm, has capabilities that you will not get from a commercially available product. The cost of assembling a robotic arm is under $50. No knowledge of electronics, soldering or even coding is required. Here is a list of features that the app supports:

* Multiple custom configurations: You can create custom motion configurations that can be selected if you want to move the laser pointer into different rooms.

* Fencing: Tells the robotic arm to ignore certain areas in a room, such as a large HD TV, tables with vases and other areas you don't want your cat to be chasing a laser pointer in.

* Coverage: The robotic arm can rotate up to 300 degrees in either the horizontal or vertical direction.

* Predefined motion patterns: Random, Random Square, ZigZag, Horizontal Arcs, Vertical Arcs

* Speed adjustment: The speed of movement can be finely adjusted from very slow to very fast.

* Boundary adjustments: Limit how far the laser can travel horizontally and vertically in any room.

* Open source code: For Patreon members, the source code for the app is available on a private Github repository. The app is written entirely in Kotlin and can be easily adapted to support any type of robotic arm.

When no robotic arm is connected, the app can still be used to simulate the laser pointer on the screen either as a red dot or a mouse. This is especially useful if you use the app on a large tablet that you can place on the floor to let your cat play with.
