I am impressed. Even though my base image included a table format with a watermark, this app successfully and accurately captured text from a phone image with very minor misidentification of characters that I was very easily able to correct. I simply copied the output sent into an email and edited later. Obviously it didn't retain the tabular layout, (which I didn't expect it to) but the text was output in logical blocks of text, that I could have reconstructed the table had that been my goal.

I recently started using the Handwriting to-Text Recognizer app by Aculix Technologies, and I’m quite impressed. The app does a great job of converting handwritten notes into editable digital text. New: search! That receipt from March? The Wi-Fi password you scanned off a café flyer? Type any word from it and ocrX finds the scan, with the match highlighted.

ocrX also learned 21 new languages, including Polish, Hindi, Thai, Hebrew, and Filipino. That makes 30, and it still can't order coffee in any of them.
