Akoua is a private Australian AI medical scribe that shows its work. It listens to a consented consultation, shows you exactly what it heard, flags anything it is not sure about, and drafts a structured clinical note for you to review and confirm.

It does not sound confident when it isn’t.


ONLY WHAT WAS SAID

Uncertainty is easy to hide inside a fluent note. Akoua is designed to show it to you instead.

• Follow a near-live transcript with transcription uncertainty kept visible.
• Transcription uncertainty means “I’m not sure I heard this” and takes you back to listen.
• Structuring uncertainty means “I heard this, but could not place it cleanly” and asks you to re-read.
• Anything that was not spoken appears as [not stated], never a confident guess.
• Statement-level grounding connects the draft back to the transcript, so you can check a line rather than trust it.


YOU STAY IN CONTROL

Every model-generated item remains a draft until you make the decision. Nothing is filed on your behalf.

• Review and correct the transcript and the structured note.
• Work through a consequence-ranked queue, so the details that matter most reach you first.
• Compare a spoken medication change with the patient’s saved medication list, then explicitly apply or dismiss it.
• Review advisory laterality and critical-value checks. Akoua raises them; you decide which answer is correct.
• Confirm the final note before it is saved or exported.

• Australian clinical vocabulary, including a PBS/AMH-informed medicine gazetteer, with transparent and reversible correction of uncertain drug names.

PRIVACY YOU CAN VERIFY

Privacy is visible during the consultation, not buried in a policy page. Your patient can watch it happen.

• Audio is processed on Akoua-controlled Australian infrastructure.
• Audio is encrypted while you review and deleted when you confirm the note. Abandoned drafts have a hard seven-day retention ceiling.
• Audio is never used to train AI models.
• A patient-facing privacy drawer presents live checks for processing, encryption, deletion and audit status.
• A login-free, PHI-free QR receipt lets the patient verify when deletion is complete.
• Every access is recorded in an append-only audit trail.
• Passkey sign-in and encryption at rest and in transit protect the clinical record.

Akoua is a documentation aid. It does not diagnose, recommend treatment, make clinical decisions, or replace clinical judgement. You remain responsible for reviewing and confirming the record.

What’s new

Recording timers now stay frozen while paused and resume from the captured-audio duration. Interrupted recording recovery and paired-device handoffs are also more reliable, so stale actions cannot interrupt phone recordings.
