About this app
CoFare helps you find someone nearby going the same way so you can ride together and split the fare.
HOW IT WORKS
1. PASSES — Make sure you have a pass before you post a trip, request a match, or accept a match. Your pass is only used after a matched ride completes.
2. POST YOUR TRIP — Set your pickup, destination, and time.
3. FIND A MATCH — Choose someone nearby going the same way, or get notified when a match appears. Then chat to agree on a pickup spot.
4. PLAN THE RIDE — Head to your agreed pickup spot. Decide who will call the ride in a rideshare app.
5. RIDE AND SPLIT — Ride together, then split the fare in the way that works for both of you. CoFare does not handle payments.

NOT A RIDESHARE POOL
CoFare matches you with another rider before either of you books the ride. Nothing about your usual rideshare changes — same rideshare app, same route, same driver — just shared with someone heading the same way.
SAFETY FIRST
- Real names and photos are shared only after both sides agree to match.
- Optional gender preference — match only with women, only with men, or no preference. It works both ways.
- Three options if a match isn't working: cancel, block, or report. We review every report.
- Phone numbers are never exchanged through CoFare.
- Background location is used only during your active trip window (about 30 minutes before departure through end of ride) to verify the ride actually happened. Never shared with other riders.
NO DRIVER NETWORK
CoFare is purely peer-to-peer matching. We don't run a driver fleet, take a cut of fares, book rides, or process rideshare payments. You and your match coordinate the actual ride yourselves through any rideshare or taxi service you choose.
ACCOUNT DELETION
You can delete your account anytime: Profile → Settings → Delete Account. Or email support@cofare.ai.
