Run your heat pump on cheaper, greener electricity. HeatAdapt schedules air-to-water and ground-source heat pumps automatically around the dynamic prices on Nord Pool and EPEX Spot.

HeatAdapt is the app for the HeatAdapt and HeatAdapt PRO smart modules: controllers that schedule heat pumps based on dynamic electricity prices, shifting heating to off-peak periods to lower the heat pump's annual electricity costs.

The module installs next to your heat pump's indoor unit, reads day-ahead electricity prices, local weather and solar forecast over Wi-Fi, and generates a daily heating and hot-water schedule based on the building's characteristics. HeatAdapt increases the heat pump's consumption during lower-cost periods and cuts it back during the most expensive ones.

REQUIRES THE HEATADAPT SMART MODULE
The app is the control surface for the HeatAdapt smart module hardware. Without the module installed, the app's control features will not function.

HOW IT WORKS
The HeatAdapt smart module connects to the heat pump's inputs provided by the manufacturer (e.g. SG-Ready, EVU) and reads day-ahead prices from Nord Pool or EPEX Spot. It works alongside your existing thermostat and does not interrupt power to the heat pump. The heat pump's own controls remain operational as designed by the manufacturer. If the internet connection drops, the heat pump reverts to its default operating mode automatically. HeatAdapt works with any dynamic-price contract on Nord Pool or EPEX Spot; it is not tied to a specific energy retailer.

WHO IT IS FOR
Homeowners with an air-to-water or ground-source heat pump installed, on a dynamic-price (spot-price) electricity contract, with a stable Wi-Fi connection at the heat-pump location. In most homes the heat pump accounts for 50–80% of annual electricity consumption.

AVAILABILITY
Compatible with 25+ heat pump brands across air-to-water and ground source. Available in 13 European countries: Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Germany, France, Austria, Belgium, Poland. Installation by a certified technician typically takes 45–75 minutes.

PROVENANCE
The control logic was developed in a 12-month study with university researchers, across more than ten Nordic homes during the 2023/24 heating season. Modelled annual savings: 14–24% per year on heat-pump electricity costs, with monthly savings up to 31% in volatile months. Actual savings vary with the building, the heating system, consumption patterns and future spot electricity prices on the dynamic electricity market.

ENVIRONMENT
By cutting consumption during peak-price periods, HeatAdapt shifts heating into windows when the grid mix carries a higher share of renewable generation. The carbon footprint per kilowatt-hour drops.
