About this app

MapleCare AI is for home care coordinators who spend their evenings writing up
the visits they did during the day.

Start recording when the assessment begins, have the conversation you would have
anyway, and stop when you leave. The app transcribes what was said and drafts a
care plan from it, ready for you to review before it goes anywhere.

HOW IT WORKS

Add a visit with a client's name. Tap Start, and put the phone down — recording
continues with the screen locked. A live transcript appears as you talk, and a
checklist quietly ticks off the topics you have covered, so you can see what is
still outstanding before you leave the house.

When you tap End, the recording uploads and the draft care plan is prepared on
the server. You can close the app and drive on.

WHAT YOU GET BACK

A care plan you review rather than write. Every answer shows the words from the
conversation it was drawn from, so you can check it in seconds instead of
trusting it. Anything nobody talked about is marked "Not discussed" rather than
filled in with a guess.

Edit anything that needs correcting. Your edits are kept, along with a record of
what changed, and they survive if the plan is ever rebuilt from a better
recording.

BUILT TO BE CHECKED

Nothing is sent to a health record system until a person approves it.

The app tells you when something has gone wrong instead of looking finished. If
part of a visit failed to record, it says where the gap was. If a word was
unclear, it is underlined and the answer drawn from it is marked lower
confidence. If an upload has not sent, it stays visible until it has.

Poor signal is normal in this job, so the app expects it. Visits record and save
with no connection at all and send themselves when signal returns.

FOR THE OFFICE

Set how long recordings and transcripts are kept. Choose whether an approved
plan is filed automatically or waits for someone to send it. Add and offboard
staff. Decide how consent is taken and what counts as proof, with a full history
of what the rule was on any past date.

CONSENT AND PRIVACY

Consent is taken before recording starts, in whichever way your agency requires.
Audio is encrypted on the device and in transit, deleted on the schedule you
set, and removed immediately if consent is refused.

What’s new

Fixes a problem where a visit could not start recording on Android 13 and later if notifications had not been allowed. The app now asks for notification access before the visit begins — Android needs it to keep recording while the screen is off — and takes you straight to the setting if it is switched off.

Also fixes a button label on the consent screen that was cut short.
