AbleMate is an accessibility toolkit for everyday support with reading, speech, visibility, alerts, reminders, and emergency information.
Use AbleMate to:
- Read printed text from a camera photo or gallery image
- Magnify typed text for easier reading
- Turn speech into saved notes
- Tap common phrases and speak them aloud
- Keep an emergency profile with important details
- Sample colors from an image
- Use flashlight and vibration alerts
- Set a daily reminder for a simple check-in
The camera text reader uses on-device text recognition. Gallery image reading works with images selected from the device. Speech notes use the speech engine available on the Android device.
AbleMate works without an account. Notes, reminder settings, and emergency profile details are stored on the device. The app does not include cloud sync or a developer server for personal content.
Permissions are used for the tools you choose:
- Camera: capture text photos and control flashlight alerts
- Microphone: create speech notes
- Notifications: show daily reminders
- Vibration: provide vibration alerts
AbleMate is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or emergency dispatch. In a serious emergency, contact local emergency services immediately.
