About this app

BiteSift helps you review packaged-food ingredient evidence against a personal avoid profile. Scan a barcode, type its digits, or paste an ingredient list to see declared allergens, trace statements, ingredient phrase matches, and missing source fields in separate evidence lanes.

Build your profile from 14 common allergen groups and your own ingredient phrases. BiteSift applies that same profile consistently when you review products, compare up to three items, or reopen saved evidence.

Product fields come from Open Food Facts, a community-maintained public database. Records can be incomplete, outdated, or different from the package in front of you. BiteSift never labels a product as safe. Always read the current package, check manufacturer guidance when needed, and consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Camera access is optional and used only while scanning a barcode. Camera frames are not saved by BiteSift. A network connection is used to request product fields from Open Food Facts. Avoid profiles, custom phrases, pasted label text, notes, saved evidence, cache, and history stay in local app storage and can be deleted in the app.
