DeciBell is a live sound level meter for quick checks of the noise around you.
Open the app and the meter starts with a large estimated dB reading, a color-coded analog gauge, and a plain category such as Quiet, Moderate, Loud, Very Loud, or Harmful. It helps you compare room noise, appliances, traffic, events, workshops, gyms, classrooms, offices, and other spaces where you want a quick picture of surrounding loudness.
What you can see in DeciBell:
- Live decibel estimate from the phone microphone
- Color-coded gauge from quiet to harmful levels

Audio and privacy:
DeciBell uses the microphone only to calculate loudness while the meter is running. Audio is processed in memory on the device. The app does not record audio, save audio files, upload audio, use an account, or require an internet connection.
Accuracy note:
DeciBell is an estimate of phone hardware. Readings can vary by device, case, distance, microphone limits, and automatic gain control. It is not a certified sound-level meter, medical device, hearing-protection device, or workplace compliance instrument.
